Working from Home Set Up Information

Since many of you are working from home right now, we at Step Forward Physiotherapy want to provide you with some general information and tips to help with work space set up. Without a proper set up some possible issues that can arise include: neck pain, headaches, low back pain, and rounded shoulders.

  1. Have your workspace in and area with good lighting but avoid direct sunlight on your monitor as this will increase eye strain.
  2. Have your computer monitor at or just below eye level.
  3. If you use a laptop, consider and external keyboard and mouse, so your monitor can be propped up to the correct eye level.
  4. Ensure your feet are resting on the floor or a supportive surface.

A Few Tips

  • Use an adjustable chair or switch chairs throughout the day.
  • Ensure you have proper lumbar support to reduce back strain.
  • Have items you use frequently within your immediate arm reach.
